This weekend I completed a stunning Storm Phoenix! His neck is poseable and the body is very soft. He also has a bit of realistic weight added to him. He is truly a gorgeous, one of a kind bird!

Dragons, Dragons, and more Dragons!!

Hello Again Everyone!

I have finally completed my newest clutch of dragons! Don’t let their small size fool you! Some are rather vicious with strangers…

Twilight, my largest dragon,  laid the clutch a few days ago and has been taking care of these little beasts marvelously. She is pretty patient but they can drive her a bit crazy, as you can imagine.

Screen Shot 2015-08-24 at 5.57.28 PM

Ok let me introduce them to you!

First up Cumulous! This little guy is very energetic and is also very playful… well … only when he gets to know you well. He can form clouds in which he loves to frolic in.

Next, we have Thor! This little dragon looks so vicious with his underbite, that he looks adorable!  Twilight passed a mysterious wing trait to him so he looks super cool.  He can be super cuddly but also super mean , like his brother.

And now we have Loki! This little guy has a venomous bite but is pretty sweet towards me.  However ,he is VERY reserved around strangers (and cameras). His only human friend is me. Basically, he is a little body guard.

And the most Majestic  one of them all is Ravenclaw. She has the mysterious wing trait like Thor and beautiful plumes of royal blue and jet black on her tail and wings. Her temperament is rather peaceful compared to her brothers.

PS: Another Fantasy Fawn Coming Soon!

For the New Readers: Welcome! All my art dolls are completely handmade and unique. I hand sculpt the head and paws (if any) and hand paint them with acrylics. I attach the hardened clay to a wire frame which is assembled by me. I also fur the faces and the paws by hand.  Then I wrap the frame with stuffing and sew on the vegan fur casing.

A NEW art doll! : “Jasmine” A Chubby Wallaby

Hello All,

I am so excited to present to everyone a new and special art doll: an adorable wallaby!

This little fluff ball is unique because I furred the face and paws. Furring is very time-consuming but very rewarding! I cut clumps of fur off and glued it carefully on the clay face. This technique gives my critters a more realistic look.

This baby wallaby,Jasmine, is also very squishy because I added a poly-fill layer of padding. She also has some shading on her coat.

Ok, Now photos of the finished masterpiece:

Animal Post #1: Fanged Deer

Hello All,

Ok I promised everyone that I would write an Animal Post… so here it is!

So today’s post is about the Chinese Water Deer. Water Deer are one of the few deer that have fangs…. yes, fangs. Surprisingly these deers don’t have antlers just huge canine teeth that are larger in buck but does have them too!

These unique deer are native to the swamps of China and Korea, but some deer reside in the English countryside. Unfortunately, they are under the status of vulnerable, as a result of trapping.

Males weigh about about 29 lbs and females weigh 24 lbs. Their coat is gold brown with some black highlights and their undersides are snowy white.Their thick fur covers their short and very round ears, which is an adaption to snowy weather. The Water Deer’s tail is only 5- 10 cm long! The water deer’s hind legs are more muscular then their front legs because they travel with quick rabbit-like bounds.

The deer’s diet consists of large quantities of grasses, reeds, and other vegetables from the swamp side.

Male deer are highly territorial and they mark their territory with their own defecation and by rubbing their heads against trees. Naturally, these deer swing their heads downward during fights in an attempt to cut an opponents flesh with their dangerous fangs. Skirmishes are often bloody with an obvious loser who either retreats or lays his head and neck on the ground.

Young fawns are born dark brown with white stripes and spots along their upper torso.  Courting and mating occur from November to January and  birthing usually occurs in late May to July. Most does become a mother of 1-3 and sometimes even 8! These deer normally live 10-12 years.

I hope you enjoy my very first animal post! I’m starting to think about making a litter of fawns… an idea to keep in mind for sure.
